Under the Old Willow

    Vicki gleamed as she starred out into the paddock, and it was Luke who caught the look on her face of pure excitement. With a questioning glance in his compadre's direction, Mason, who was walking along beside him, the troublesome duo turned and started in the direction of their boss. Grinning from ear to ear, Mason walked up and threw his arm around Vicki's shoulders, "What's up boss?" He asked, mimicking Bugs Bunny.
    The boss turned slightly, a suspicious look on her face as she looked at Mason on her right, and then to Luke on her left, "What are you two doing?" She asked, before glancing back into the paddock, the only one that was connected into a larger pasture off the back side, a look on her face that was interesting in itself. It was almost like she was waiting for something.
    Luke chuckled,  "Checking on you. What are you waiting for?" 
    Vicki grinned, not replying to him, which caused the men to look at each other, both of their eyebrows scrunched up. Then all of a sudden, the girl in between them jumped and pointed out in front of her, "There!" And as if on cue, five heads came over the horizon. Mason starred, it was a beautiful sight. Both Knight and Domingo lead the little group, there heads held high and proud. Domingo's few centimeters of height on Knight barely noticeable as they both carried an air about them that was majestic in itself. 
    Following closely behind the pair of males were three mares. Lucky Starz's newest addition, Rebel, then came Lay, and last but not least was Empress. Besides Rebel, the other two were simply visiting the stables, Empress was mainly here for a test run. To see if the young mare would have a good enough temperament to bring her back later on down the road and breed her to one of the studs. So far, they all like what they saw. She was a beautiful girl, with an original personality, and it suit her. She was a unique looking horse. 
    Lady was still around due to her training purposes, but earlier in the week Vicki had decided that all the horses could use a break and turned the group out together to let them have a week off. Domingo was just visiting, simply because Vicki loved the boy and she enjoyed having him around, something that Knight seemed to get annoyed with every now and then.
    By now the little group had come to a stop, all of them easily settling beneath the old willow tree out in the middle of the paddock area. They were enjoying their down time, by the looks of it, and Vicki was happy to see them all relaxed for once. It did a show horse some good sometimes to have a week off, she decided...
    Mason grinned out at the paddock, seeming to get as much joy out of the content horses as his boss, but he didn't say anything as he stared at the group of equine. Lucas on the other had, didn't keep his mouth shut, "Let's just hope that they don't decide that they can't be without one another after this." He muttered, shaking his head, and without another word, he pushed off the fence, and hands in pockets, began walking back to the barn. 
    Mason sighed, before leaning in and kissing Vicki on the forehead, before walking after Lucas. They had to go get chores figured out for the ranch hands, though it wasn't really their job, but that was alright by them. What man didn't love bossing around younger people.
